To identify areas within the community and workplace where crisis occurs, and help train people how to effectively come alongside and support others. This could be by way of establishing peer support programs within certain groups; it could be developing a specialist team of responders who might go to areas of immediate need following a man made or natural disaster. Or just individuals being a friend to others around them who might be ‘doing it tough’.
In either event we would look to work with, and complement, existing support networks, agencies and organisations in order not to duplicate or complicate the response – especially in the case of emergency or community disaster.
